Significant Changes on the EN 1004-1:2020
EN 1004:2004 standard, which was determined the mobile scaffolding requirements, was renewed and renamed as EN 1004-1:2020.

WHY EN 1004 STANDARD RENEWED?
EN 1004-1:2020 mobile scaffolding standard determined and approved by the European Standardization Committee CEN*. In order to make access towers safer, easier and more stable, an updated version of the existing standard has been pulished

CAGSAN has adapted and re-designed the ProTUBE Towers, which used to have TÜV-SÜD EN 1004:2004 standard, according to EN 1004-1:2020 standard. The codes of our products with new standards have been changed as ProTUBE N series.
WHAT’s NEW WITH EN 1004-1:2020 ?
SAFER ASSEMBLE
According to the new standard, the companents of Rolling Towers; should allow user to assemble, altered and dismantled the tower without using any personal fall protection equipment.
Thanks to the newly designed SAFE GUARDRAIL SYSTEM it is easier and safer to assemble and dissasemble the Tower.
New Safe Guardrails have been developed for the comfort and safe installation of ProTUBE N series. During the installation, the user can stand safely on each floor and easily install the frames, Safe Guardrail Systems and platforms of the next floor. So user has a safe area with side protections before climbing to the upper Level.

SAFER AND EASIER ASSEMBLING
In accordance with the previous EN 1004:2004 standard, it has been required the distance between the floor to the first platform was maximum 4.60 m. The height between the two platforms have been required as maximum 4.20 m. With the new standard, these distances have been limited and reduced for more safety.
According to the new standard EN 1004-1:2020, the height of the first platform from the floor can be maximum 3.40 m and the height between the two platforms can be maximum 2.25 m. By the way the assembling of the product becomes easier and accessing to the upper levels are safer. While designing The new ProTUBE towers, we further shortened the distances between the two platforms.

WHICH PLATFORM CAN I WORK ON?
According to the new standard, the topmost platform has been determined as a working platform and users are only allowed to work on that Platform. Other platforms are called intermediate platforms they are used just to access to the topmost work platform.
If it is required to work on intermediate platforms, it is mandatory to attach toeboards to those platforms.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENTS
The Updated standard also brings additional safety equipments, regardless of product height. The previous standard was not bring any regulation for the towers which heights were below 2,5m, with the new Standard it is obligatory to add stabilizers, side guardrails and toeboards. For the towers which heights are blow 2 meters. If climbing from the outside is necessary , the tower should not be overturned. For this reason, the new Mini Stablisers have been added to ProTUBE FN96 and FN180 models.

WHAT DO THESE NUMBERS AND SYMBOLS MEAN?
According to the EN 1004-1:2020 standard, it is obligatory to make various markings on the products. Please find what does it means as below. All ProTUBE N Series have Load Class 3, that is, 2 kN/m2 load capacity.
QUALITY CERTIFICATION
CAGSAN New ProTUBE Tower series have been developped according to these requirements , the tests have been performed physically and successfully conformed all new requirements .
As a result of the tests carried out on the products and factory inspections under the supervision of TÜV-SÜD test engineers, CAGSAN ProTUBE N Aluminum Towers ; has been certificated by TÜV-SÜD according to "EN 1004-1:2020 Mobile access and working towers made of prefabricated elements Materials."
